Its handbook says to leave the camera off for more than 24 hours, with either the supplied AC adapter connected or a fully charged main battery installed. Pages 75-76 contain the full precautions and charging procedure. The service note mattersRemoving the clock cell also clears the backed-up self-diagnosis data, according to the FD97 service note.
