17.10.2026 Photo controls & your whole Gallery in one ZIP
A few smaller things again... Like is now next to Share, Previous & Next below the Photo, so you dont have to scroll all the way down for it anymore.
Your own Profile now has a Download all photos button. It packs the original Images into one ZIP, with your Album folders & subfolders still there. No compression or resizing, just your files. There is a progress bar while it packs & the Download stays available for 12 hours. You can leave the page and come back later.
There is also Delete all photos if you want to clear your public Gallery. Only the Profile owner can do this & you have to type your username and confirm it first. This removes the Photos, their likes & comments, and their share links stop working. Download your ZIP first! A private safety copy stays for 7 days in case you need me to recover something.
Private Albums, Videos, Chat attachments, your Avatar & Banner are left alone. This does not delete your Account.
Oh & the ZIP runs at low priority, one at a time... the T60 still has other things to do ;)

13.10.2026 Mavica.net, new Design & a lot of changes
Okay so... remember that "very big update" i mentioned in July? Yeah, this is it.
The Website has its own Domain now! Everything has moved from germanplace.de/mavica to Mavica.net. Your Accounts, Photos, Albums, Messages, Network posts & Wiki pages have been carried over, so you dont need a new Account. Old Links should still bring you to the correct Photo, Album or Page on the new Website.
The whole Website got a new Design, inspired by the old Sony ImageStation Website. If blue isnt your thing there is a Black Design too. You can change it in the "Design" selection at the top. Classic brings back the old look & Compact is there for smaller screens. There are also animated versions of the blue & black Design now... yes, the Mavicas slowly fall down the screen ;)
Profiles have been rebuilt to fit the Website properly. Custom CSS is gone since it kept fighting with the new Design, but the other Profile fields are still there. Album covers now show up to four Photos instead of filling half the cover with Floppy gifs when there are only one or two Images. Uploading & managing Albums should be less annoying too, you can select an existing Album directly when uploading & see where your files will end up.
There is a new Know your Mavica section with pages for all 25 digital FD & CD models in the catalogue. Specs & accessory information there come from the original Manuals, with the sources linked next to them. The Community Wiki is still there for your own articles & finally has its own tab at the top. I have also fixed missing Images & some broken formatting in it.
Link previews got an update as well, shared Photos & Albums should show their own Images now instead of the same generic banner everywhere. I have fixed a bunch of bright white Boxes in the Black Design, including Polls, Albums & the File Manager.
Oh & File Transfer now allows 500 MB per File instead of 100 MB. The Links still expire after 24h!
There are probably still a few weird things hiding somewhere... if you find something broken, let me know.
Anyway, find your camera, open its manual & go touch grass.

30.07.2026 Gallery addition & Bugfix
I have fixed a bug where the Images in the Gallery break out of the 800px background Box.
Below the Navigator is now a small stats bar that shows some basic information... I will release a very big update in future that will change how the Website works & is interacted with completely.

29.07.2026 Transfer, Reddit & Design
I have implemented two new Pages on the Mavica Website.
1. mavica/transfer is basically a one klick Filehoster to share Files with others, it should work on old & new Browsers without Problems! You can try it here
2. The new Reddit Page can be found in the Navigation Bar & is supposed to show some of the new r posts, this is still heavily WIP.
The Navigation Bar has a small Design change, you can open the Toolbox now (Dropdown) where you will find the Image Editor, Format Converter, File Transfer & Downloads Page.

30.05.2026 Network & Profile Update
Okay so... there is this "Webrings" thing for a while now & i was very lazy & refused to continue to work on this. Anyway, now i have implemented some updates for this thing!
I have completely changed the Design & fixed many bugs/errors it had. The whole thing is basically functional but its missing a lot of features rn that arent finished yet... The Goal with this "Network" is to basically remake Google+ (thats why its called "Mavica+" in the Network itself ;)) that was shut down years ago but for Cameras & optionally other Communitys. The whole thing will be connected with the Gallery & Profiles etc., everything will go together in the end.
The Profile got an overhaul, it has more customization options & a completely new Design now.
A direct Link to the Network can be found here or in the selection bar at the Top.
Except of the things above, i have fixed some security problems.

29.05.2026 A new Link has been added & smaller changes!
Check out the mavica/links Page, we have added a new Link to DNxi's Converter Website for FD71, 73 & 75. On the Mavica Homepage i have added the Notifications & Message Gif Buttons for easier & faster access... so people with a Modem wont have to load the Gallery Thumbnails first.
The Chat has been improved a bit, you can now also share Images there & delete Messages.
With the new Chat functions i have added a small sub Page for sharing files. Open mavica/transfer to share Files to others via. direct Link like RapidShare back in 2004. (All uploaded Files & Links will be permanently deleted after 24h!)

17.05.2026 Photo Descriptions & Album Editing
The Title says it, i have added Descriptions for Photos that can either be added for Images on Upload or afterwards by opening the Image in the Gallery & klicking on "[ EDIT DESCRIPTION ]" or via. the new edit function on the Profile.
There is also a new edit Button on the Profile, klicking on it will open a new edit Page where Albums & photos can be deleted, moved, copied etc.
Another small change is the removal of the old IE5, NS & HTML gifs on the Profile. These have been replaced with a "Cool Links" Box that can be personalized.

16.05.2026 Update to SQL
Almost every file got edited, i hate my life... I have updated the whole Website to use SQLite!
I have also fixed some bugs on the Website that could have lead to data loss or other annoying shit...
The Editor has been GREATLY improved! Instead of using Jimp its using ImageMagik now, this means editing Images takes less than a second now instead of 15 seconds per action. (atleast for Mavica Images!)
The Editor also has many more functions now. You can test it HERE
